This course deals with the underlying purpose of Shariah or Islamic law. The main topics of the course are theories related to the objectives for implementation of human welfare, the theories that Allah has issued, the rules of Islam, it's development in the course of history and it's relationship with the principles and other aspects of Islamic law. In addition, the course explains the ways of recognizing Makasidush Shariah, it's types, it's application in the modern context, as well as the great purpose behind the various rules and regulations of the Shariah.


Having this course, a learner will be able to:

  • Providing students with basic concepts and basic knowledge of Makasidush Shariah.
  • Determining the relevance of other principles of Islamic law to the Makasis.
  • Highlighting the importance and method of applying Makasidush Shariah in determining the Islamic solution to modern problems.
  • Explaining the role of Makasidush Shariah in resolving various issues of disagreement.
  • Gaining firmness in following the various provisions of practical life by knowing the purpose.
